For founder-led companies of 10 to 150 people

A FRACTIONAL BUILDER INSIDE YOUR COMPANY.

I join when the technical work starts to affect the business, not just the product. I take ownership of it. What you get is a business that moves faster, on technology that just works.

03The real problem

You didn't build a business to become its technology department.

You built something that works. You have customers, people, and problems that need solving every day. Then technology got added on top: a system that needs fixing, a process everyone does manually, an app you've been meaning to build, and now AI is supposedly going to change everything. You don't need another person explaining technology to you.

The short version

A business that can move at the speed of its ideas, without having to build a giant technology team to do it.

  1. 01

I don't have time to manage another project.

You shouldn't have to. I'll spend the time understanding how your business works, finding where technology can actually help, and getting the work shipped. You can review decisions over WhatsApp or a quick call when needed.

  2. 02

I don't know what we should build.

That's exactly why you bring me in. You don't need to arrive with a product specification. Tell me what is slowing the business down, what you or your team does manually, what customers keep asking for, or what you're trying to launch.

  3. 03

We've already tried agencies and developers.

That's usually the problem. You end up managing a developer who needs constant direction, or an agency that hands you a proposal before understanding the business.

  4. 04

Everyone is talking about AI. I don't know what's actually useful.

Most of it isn't. I'm not going to sell you an AI platform, a chatbot, or a presentation about “digital transformation.” I'll look at how your company actually works and find the places where software or AI can save time, reduce mistakes, or make something possible that wasn't before.

  5. 05

We need something built, but hiring a CTO doesn't make sense yet.

It often doesn't. You might need a senior engineer for two days a week, not a six-figure full-time hire. Someone who can make the technical decisions, work with your team, and actually ship the product.

  6. 06

I have no idea where to start.

Start with thirty minutes. Tell me what you or your team spends too much time doing, what keeps getting postponed, or what you've wanted to build but never had the right person to take ownership of.

04Why fractional

You don't need a full-time CTO. You need senior ownership.

A full-time hire is a big commitment. An agency gives you a project, but you still manage the brief, priorities, and what happens after launch. A fractional builder works inside the company, owns the technical decisions, and stays close to the work.

You get senior technical capability when you need it, without hiring full-time before you're ready.

What you getA permanent employee.A project, deliverable or additional hands.A senior person who understands the business, makes decisions, builds, and stays accountable.
How work gets decidedDepends on internal priorities and management.Usually follows the agreed scope. We continuously decide what is worth doing next.
CommitmentPermanent.Usually tied to a project.Ongoing, without the commitment of a full-time hire.
Best whenTechnology is central to the company and there is enough work for a full-time senior hire. You already know what needs to be built and need delivery capacity. You need someone to figure out what matters and make it happen.
  1. 01

    Start with the business problem.

I work with the people doing the work, find what is slow, manual or broken, and decide what is worth fixing.

  2. 02

    Decide what matters next.

What should we build, buy, automate or leave alone? I make the technical call with you, then we tackle the work in the right order.

  3. 03

    Build it, stay accountable.

I design, code and deploy the answer, then stay close to the people using it and own what happens after launch.

Not a strategy deck that disappears. Not an agency team you have to manage. Not a developer waiting for tickets.

I'm the senior technical person inside the company who figures out the problem and makes the solution real.

06Work with me

Start with the problem you have, not the type of contract you need.

You don't need to figure out whether you need an engineer, a CTO, an agency, or an AI consultant before talking to me. Tell me what's stuck. I can help you work out what needs to happen, build something specific, or stay alongside your team and own the technical work over time.

TECHNICAL DIAGNOSIS

A paid first week, to find out whether I'm the right person to help. A week to answer the questions that otherwise tend to cost months.

$1,500

about 1 week

  • A clear picture of the biggest technical problems
  • The opportunities I'd prioritize
  • A practical plan for what to do next
  • What I'd build, fix, automate or leave alone

The full $1,500 is credited toward your first month if we continue.

FRACTIONAL PRODUCT ENGINEERING

A senior technical person inside the business, without the full-time commitment.

From $6,000 a month

typically 2 days a week

  • Decide what to build next.
  • Improve an existing product.
  • Automate a painful process.
  • Help your engineers.
  • Work out where AI makes sense.

Month to month. No timesheets. No artificial scope boundaries. You don't need to prepare tickets for me.

BUILD SPRINT

You have something important to build. Let's build it.

From $9,000 a month

typically 4 to 8 weeks

  • A new SaaS product.
  • An internal tool.
  • A customer-facing workflow.
  • An automation.
  • An AI-powered feature.
  • A replacement for a painful manual process.

Whatever the project is, the goal is the same: working software in production, not another plan for getting there.

07Questions

Answered in the open

Good engagements are clear before they start. Here is what working together looks like in practice.

01

How does fractional work operate, day to day?

Two fixed days a week inside your working hours, in your channel, with a weekly thirty minute check-in. No timesheets: the work shows up as merged changes.

02

What kind of companies is this for?

Founder-led companies of 10 to 150 people with a real product where the technical work has outgrown the people carrying it. That is often a founder doing it alone, sometimes a small team, and occasionally a team that has run out of room. If there are twenty-five or more hours of this work every week, hire full time instead.

03

How do you work with an existing team?

Through your normal review, in your repository, on your accounts. I do not bring a framework and I do not rewrite what works. Your engineers keep owning the code, and everything I do is documented so it survives me.

04

What happens after the first engagement?

You keep the diagnosis whether we continue or not. If we continue, we start with the first thing on it: either a build sprint to get that shipped, or an ongoing commitment where I stay alongside your team, month to month.

05

Who owns the work and the code?

You do. It lives in your repository, your cloud and your accounts. There is no platform of mine in the loop, nothing to cancel, and no licence to keep paying.

06

What if a full-time hire becomes the better choice?

Then hire, and I will help you do it. I write down what the role needs to own and hand over the documentation for everything I built. That is the plan working, not failing.

08About

FAWWAZ ALHARBI

Saudi engineer and fractional builder with ten years of experience across Aramco, Gojek, Glovo and Welsyn.

I've spent the last ten years building software across companies like Gojek and Glovo, then leading product engineering at Welsyn. I've worked on high-scale systems, greenfield products, messy existing codebases, engineering teams, and the uncomfortable gap between a business idea and something people can actually use.

These days I work independently with founders and teams that need that kind of technical ownership without hiring a full-time CTO or building a large engineering organisation. The work I take on is usually the part before the roadmap exists: working out what matters, deciding what to build, and then building it.
